A block of rooms has been reserved in several hotels in the town of Berne
by the Berne Tourist Office for the nights of March 1- 5, 2004. Please
use the Hotel Registration Form to reserve rooms in hotels of a category
of your choice.

Send the completed form to Berne Tourismus, as indicated on the form.
Reservations deadline is Tuesday, January 20, 2004.
Room requests will be filled on a first come, first serve basis.
After January 20, rooms will be available on a space and rate available
basis, only.
If you want to make your independent reservations at a specific hotel of your choice, please use the online reservation facility provided at the Berne Tourist Office's website
Rental cars are available at all airports. We recommend to use Swiss Railways for the travel from your arrival airport to the town of Berne (except from Berne-Belp, in which case you are advised to use the shuttle bus to Berne center). The table below gives the distance, travel time, and estimated fares for these options. Timetables are available at the railways website.

By train, you will arrive at Berne Main Train station, located centrally in town, and within easy walking distance of the University. Most hotels are not more than 15 minutes walking distance from the train station.
Parking
Be advised that parking is sparse in the town of Berne. If you extend your stay in Berne to explore the surrounding region, you may decide to rent a car, or profit from the excellent public transport system (train, bus).

The Exact Sciences Building, in which the workshop and the symposium take place, is located very close to the train station. If you traverse the train station underground, you can walk past the gates until the end, where you can take an elevator to the top (4th floor). When you exit the elevator, you find behind you the University Main Building, and on its East end, the Exact Sciences Buidling, a white, 3-floor, flat-top building.
Consulting a city map, you follow the "Schanzenstrasse" overpassing the railways to reach the "Falkenplatz". There, you take a right into "Sidlerstrasse". The Exact Sciences Building is the last building on the right hand side.
